Individual Certifications are Critical

Will Maine be next?  Colorado has joined the growing list of states requiring Professionally Certified & Licensed companies & individuals to sell, install & service water conditioning systems.  A few years ago a non-licensed company employed an installer to install a bunch of water softeners in a residential sub-division just outside of Denver.  The connection to the drain was not done properly and resulted in sewage coming out of the kitchen faucet.  The family got very sick and the Dad even ended up having surgery to fix problems with his digestive system.  A giant law suit resulted in huge payments for damages.  Within months, Colorado was busy making new rules for plumbers.  There were still problems with proper installations and water chemistry conflicts.  Finally, in 2015 the state passed a bill into law requiring that “Water Conditioning Contractors” be licensed with the state and provide specific qualifications proving their training and proficiency in the water conditioning industry.  The 2015 law became effective in April 2016.

Press Release

April 1st, 2016

“Water Conditioning Contractor” Licenses Now Required by Colorado Revised  Statutes & Plumbing Code

Water Conditioning Contractors Now Require a State License ! Water Softener/Filter sales & installations now require the company to have a “Water Conditioning Contractor” License issued by the State of Colorado. The new law signed by Governor Hickenlooper in June 2015 became active on April 1st, 2016. Home Owners hiring water conditioning contractors must be certain they are hiring properly licensed companies.

Maine does not have that law….. YET.  But it we are only one disaster away from it.  Please don’t be that family.  There are so many difficulties for the consumer if you don’t hire a “Certified Water Specialist” to do the water chemistry and a “Certified Installer” to do the installation.  Certified individuals will know how to diagnose the water problems, select & apply the correct equipment, install it correctly & maintain it over time.  Below you will see some of Chuck’s Certifications.
